| In July 2011, Julie Bowser was hired by Lester Pearson College to take over as the relief eco-guardian for Mike and Alex for the months of July and August. From ecological recording and observation and reporting of problems in the reserve to renovation work, she is on call 24 hours a day, living in in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Julie is a newly graduated student from Pearson College. This coming year Julie is taking time to travel before she heads to school at College of the Atlantic where she hopes to incorporate some marine science in her studies.
