Another large male elephant seal showed up today, he might’ve been the one that was here a couple weeks ago but he is the only new one since the pup has been born, he looks almost as large as the biggest male who has been sticking around mom and pup

also Kyle, Jeff and Jake brought some new batteries for the battery bank that keeps this island powered, had to start up the crane and maneuver around a stubborn elephant seal to get the batteries where they needed to be

The pup is doing well and so are all the other elephant seals

The 8 day old pup is doing very well so is the mother and the big guy beside them

very large waves today and the tide seemed higher than usual
the wind speed has been going up down, from nothing to 15
also saw a very small pod of killer whales, maybe 3 or 4 of them

The mature male elephant seal is staying near the pup and mother
Saw one of the 3 juvenile males around but the other two were somewhere else today, didn’t even see them when I went to do the water sample by the jetty

had some beautiful sunrises and sunsets lately so I haven’t had to run the generator as much

The 4 day old pup is doing well
The largest male was on the other side of the lighthouse today but came “running” when he heard the mother yelling at one of the juveniles getting too close, the big guy came and chased him off so Springtide ecotours got a bit of show today
Also some Green-winged Teals today along with harlequins, oystercatchers and eagles
