  • haven’t seen much activity probably because it was blowing 40 knots but the DND was blasting today

  • way less activity than usual probably because of the weather today, its supposed to calm down tomorrow

  • a few boats went by today, no visitors

Ecological

  • One of the pups is now by the tank shed and the other one is by the compost bin, still no male elephant seals around
  • there is another tagged female now, a mature one the tag is pretty worn out, but its an orange tag that reads T 563

  • a few boats went by today along with having a couple tours today from the college

Ecological

  • haven’t seen the males around, only 3 elephant seals on the island today, both the pups along with one tagged female elephant seal, tag is C-887

  • Sky: Very Sunny
  • Water: Flat Calm

  • quite a few boats out there
  • also quite a few visitors coming to take a quick tour of race rocks

Ecological

  • The males both seem to have gone off today, I haven’t seen them, I’ve only seen the pups along with the two juvenile tagged females

  • a few boats went by today,
  • some staff from the college along with a group of people came by the island today for a little tour

  • Still the two males and 4 females, two of them tagged around the jetty

  • The oldest pup was in the water again today, I got some photos of her on the rocks near the water
  • another tagged female elephant seal showed up today could only make out the last 3 digits on the tag which were 019

  • Water: Some waves this morning but calm later in the day

Boats/Visitors

  • a few boats went by today, ecotours and fishing

Ecological

  • An adult female elephant seal showed up today and the oldest pup was relaxing on the jetty with the sea lions
  • also the juvenile male had blood on him, there may have been a couple small puncture wounds but nothing serious
  • it was a beautiful afternoon, a bit difficult counting with all the movement

  • Water: Waves 1-2 metres in the morning, 0 in the evening

Boats/Visitors

  • a few boats went by today
  • had a couple visitors along with the two alumni that spent the night

Ecological

  • Both pups were by the jetty today, the older pup went in but the younger stayed close to the new female who is also by the jetty
  • the new female appears to be young still and she is tagged, there was mud on the tag so I’m not quite sure what the number was it was a green tag C-8?7

  • a few boats went by today
  • Have a couple visitors on the island overnight and the guys working on the project by the student house came by today and finished up

Ecological

  • The elephants had some movement today, the juvenile male was chasing one of the pups until the big guy chased him off
  • plenty of pigeon guillemots around today
