After the surge

Ecological Notes:

  •  the sea lions have taken the jetty over…… most posts damaged by them and the weather. It will require a rebuild after this storm front
  • Storm surge, combined with high tides have resulted in the jetty being totally awash with both water and logs
  • Sea Lions have scattered around the rest of the island, moving around based on wind and swell direction
  • Many birds left the reserve during the surge and took a day or 2 to return
  • Sill a couple Humpbacks viewable from the reserve

Facility Work:

  • as usual, repair fencing after last storm surge
  • Fuel transfers

Noted Vessel Traffic:
