Weather:
- Foggy morning clearing to sunshine and some clouds.
- Wind: 15-20 knots W
- Water: lightly rippled
- Visibility: 15+ miles
Visitors:
- A few whale watching boats and pleasure crafts today, around 10.
- One boat sped through the reserve around noon and got stuck on a rock. Luckily they managed to push themselves off of the rock with their emergency paddles.
- This morning Jeff came with a load of fresh water which we transferred into our holding tank. We are running low so will need more early next week.
Ecological;
- Every day we are seeing more male stellar sea lions on middle rock. There are around 10-15 today.
- Last night we spotted an otter on land near the jetty. It ran under the boardwalk area when it noticed us. We have seen it do this before, so we wonder how often it is under there watching us!
- The young elephant seal is still on the jetty and doesn’t seem to want to move even when we are nearby. It looks to be faring better than it was before. It has stopped shaking and its minor wounds look like they are healing fine.
