another tagged female elephant seal showed up today could only make out the last 3 digits on the tag which were 019

An adult female elephant seal showed up today and the oldest pup was relaxing on the jetty with the sea lions
also the juvenile male had blood on him, there may have been a couple small puncture wounds but nothing serious
it was a beautiful afternoon, a bit difficult counting with all the movement

had a couple visitors along with the two alumni that spent the night

Both pups were by the jetty today, the older pup went in but the younger stayed close to the new female who is also by the jetty
the new female appears to be young still and she is tagged, there was mud on the tag so I’m not quite sure what the number was it was a green tag C-8?7

Have a couple visitors on the island overnight and the guys working on the project by the student house came by today and finished up

The elephants haven’t moved around too much, the sea lions were in and out of the water because it did get pretty sunny this afternoon and I did see quite a few pigeon guillemots around today

Ran the desalinator quite a bit today only had to run the generator for part of it so I feel like the solar power did help

Seems like the seals and sea lions spent most of the day either lazing in the sun or cooling off in the water, the gulls seem to be extra rowdy today, not sure why

the batteries don’t seem to be taking in enough solar power, I find it odd that I still have to run the generator today even though its been very sunny for the past few days
