200 – 300 gulls are still on the East Ridge 21 bald eagles were in the reserve including 12 immature approximately 150 sea lions were in the reserve including 60% still Steller’s.

tide line feeding
Chris out with Second Nature and seven divers. Students tested second nature emergency motor. Approximately 2500 gulls and cormorants were feeding in the tide lines. 21bald eagles including nine immature, in reserve. The bald eagles were also feeding in tide lines. One elephant seal was hauled out on the South side of great race. Approximately 250 goals are wintering on the East Ridge. These birds stay very close together and are very quiet.
Large swells
no sea lions left on North rocks due to large swells. Eight mature bald eagles on South East rocks. For immature old Eagles on West rocks. 26 black oystercatcher’s on South shore of great race. Over 20 black Turnstons and 2230 starlings as well.
Helicopter in
10 o’clock number 304 Coast Guard helicopter in with two men from Victoria base to pour cement pad for fuel hose reels. Returned at 1400 hrs. to pick up crew. 100 sea lions , 60% Steller’s, cold North East outflow winds all day.
Three bald eagles, two mature here most of the day.
