  • quite a few ecotours went by today
  • Guy brought some people by to work on the coastal radar system and he also brought some students from the college for a tour

Ecological

  • 10 adult female elephant seals, all lying around the front yard today soaking in the sun

Boats/Visitors

  • plenty of boat traffic today, ecotours, fishing, sailboats
  • a group of the marine science students came by for a bit today,  I think they are getting ready for their final exam

Ecological

  • about 11 mature female elephants seals around, mostly gathered by the desal building and the others by the jetty
  • the second pup left this morning which was to be expected she is 3 months old and a couple days

  • a lot of boat traffic today, from ecotour to fishing boats and sailboats, great day to be on the water

Ecological

  • about 9 elephant seals around, all female, and all in the process of molting
  • the eagles were chasing around the seagulls today and there were quite a bit of pigeon guillemots around

  • DND was blasting today, the animals were not happy about it
  • 3 of the female elephant seals are tagged one was an orange tag reading T532, then two green tags reading D019 and B198

  • a few ecotours went by today
  • along with some fishing boats

Ecological

  • 8 adult female elephant seals and one pup, I still havent seen the other around for about a week now, there are times where I think I see her in the intertidal areas but I’m not sure if its the pup or a harbour seal

Other

  • it was a beautiful day out, the stellars were being pretty loud out on the rocks and I got plenty of solar power today but I still need to run the generator daily until the batteries can be lifted off the concrete

  • a few ecotours went by today
  • Guy, went by with a group from the college but it was too rough for them to tie up to the jetty

Ecological

  • 8 adult female elephant seals all together, 1 pup and the other pup still hasnt shown up
  • not much else going on, need to check the goose nests again soon, it looks like there is either more of them or the geese haved moved their nest
