Wildlife notes
I checked the Keeper’s House pigeon guillemot nest again today. The egg shell pieces have been moved to the side. The day old chick is all black including its feet.

Facility work
I was so happy when we received a new axe this winter. I had asked for a Fiskar axe but we got a cheaper one. When I found the axe this spring I understood why we don’t get or have nice tools. They aren’t always well taken care of. I brushed, sanded, filed, sharpened and oiled the axe.
I also went at one of our big frying pans today. Who severely burns a pan and then hides it at the back of the shelf under some other pans? How does one even accomplish this enamel like coating? In the oven?
